Can you buy happiness for money?

According to new research, worldwide, an increase in income increases life satisfaction, but the income is not strongly correlated with positive emotions. The resulting analysis based on the studied 136,000 people from 132 countries also showed that a single prescription of happiness does not exist, but it depends on the local culture of the people and their customs.

Society always wants to know: Can money make happy? This study showed that all life depends on what happiness means to you, because if you appreciate life in general, you will notice not only you but also people in the rest of the world, a strong relationship between income and happiness.

Money, happiness and satisfaction

Pollsters interviewed people on issues such as: Were satisfied with their basic needs, what facilities they own and whether or not satisfied with their psychological needs. Respondents were also asked about their positive and negative emotions they have experienced over the past day, whether it is a simple sense of respect from family and friends, or simply the ability to choose an occupation. According to experts the positive emotions are more often related to factors such as a sense of respect from other people or the attainment of independence in their work.

Other intriguing findings include:- In the United States population has the highest income compared with other countries, but they occupy only 16 th on life satisfaction and the 26th by the presence of positive emotions;- The best results in Denmark. Denmark ranks first in satisfaction with life, as well as seventh place in the presence of positive emotions in the population and the fifth largest revenue;- The worst situation in Africa, where the income of the population is very low and their level of satisfaction with life as an extremely small;- Israel ranks 11 th on life satisfaction, but loses in positive emotions;- South Korea is also not particularly distinguished, and occupies 24 seats on the income of the population and 58 in the rating of positive emotions in people;- Some states such as Costa Rica and New Zealand have much at a disadvantage in the ranking of income, but the level of positive emotions beat all records, namely Costa Rica occupies 41 seats in income and 4 place already on the level of positive emotions, but New Zealand is first place in terms of positive emotions in the population and only 22 places on the level of income.

Diener, a psychology professor from the Institute of Illinois, believes that the Danes are much happier than others for two reasons: a great social confidence and very low corruption. And still people in Denmark are much more satisfied with his "economic protection" than the population in the U.S.. Diener said, and that factors that affect the welfare of many, and they differ in one country or another. According to him, the study showed clearly that there is no single recipe for happiness. Money is not a guarantee of happiness, like cigarettes do not necessarily lead to lung cancer, but still depend on one another. The study also found that in poor countries, people are happy, as satisfied with their most essential needs.

The strongest relationship between money and well-being observed among the poor, since they lack the additional funds is especially pronounced, but even in this case, money does not determine people's happiness and well-being.
