Brooke Greenberg - a girl the size of a baby and toddler mental ability of the city of Baltimore, USA. However, she was already 16 years old in January of this year.
The question arises as to why scientists are fascinated with Brooke? Among the many reported cases of children who are not able to grow and develop, the case of Brook is unique, says Dr. Lawrence Pakula its School of Medicine at Johns Hopkins in Baltimore.
"No one of the most famous names in medicine, in my experience have not seen anyone who would like to Brooke," says Pakula.
The fact that this girl does not age in the traditional sense of the word. Dr Richard Walker College of Medicine, University of South Florida, said that Brooke's body is not developed as a coordinated organism. Parts of it exist, whether it be separated from each other. For example, at age 16 she still has baby teeth, and bone age is more like 10 years of age. And she did not identify any known genetic syndrome or chromosomal abnormalities, through which could explain the phenomenon.
Mother Brook, a 48-year-old Melanie Greenberg sees a different picture. "She likes to shop in stores," says Melanie. "Just like any other woman."
When the mother of this girl "boy" carries her in a wheelchair in the children's department of a clothing store and someone asked how old her child, Melanie is not even trying to explain anything. "My system is such that I'm turning into months, years," she says. "So if someone asked me today how old my daughter, I would say that her 16 months."
